In March 2019 APS Managing Director, Terence Breen and his partner Helen Long, travelled to Germany to attend one of the world’s largest and arguably the most important international trade fair for the construction industry, Bauma 2019
The trade fair, which was attended by 620,000 people from 200+ countries, presented a comprehensive international product range on construction and is a hub for international business providing Terence and Helen the opportunity to establish contacts, gather information directly from construction experts and learn about latest state-of-the-art-technology.
Hosted by Wirtgen, Terence and Helen embarked on a 5-day road tour starting in Frankfurt to visit the Wirtgen GmbH factory. They then proceeded to Heidelberg to visit the Voegele factory before visiting Stuttgart and culminating in Munich at the Bauma Trade Fair.
The most valuable part of the trip was the opportunity for the regional Geelong business to network and travel with other small, medium and large construction companies and to discuss challenges and emerging opportunities.
Not only did they gain industry insights, they also formed new relationships and strengthened existing ones. By attending Bauma 2019 APS gained a global overview of innovations, technologies and trends in the construction industry, which strengthened APS’s processes and broadened their knowledge.
Australia was well represented with numerous businesses from most states and territories in attendance. Helen and Terence were thrilled to strengthen their ties with South East Profiling, Elite Roads, NA Roads, WA Surface Mining, Downer, Bitu-Mill, Bank of Queensland and Patten Pavement Services.
